Public Involvement

Public outreach is an important element of the planning process that engages project stakeholders to solicit input. A stakeholder is defined as anyone who could be affected by the project and has a stake in its outcome. The study team has begun outreach efforts to identified stakeholders which will allow the study team to understand issues and needs. A collaborative public involvement plan uses a flexible design approach to develop, construct, and maintain cost effective transportation facilities. The inclusive process contributes to the selection of a design that addresses all modes of transportation and fits into its surroundings while maintaining safety and mobility.
